Label design and printing software for Windows

Native Windows application: design with the full editor, print through Windows drivers or native printer languages, queue manager and print load balancing, multi-database connectivity and the print connector as a Windows service.

Windows is where most label printing happens — the PC next to the packing line, the terminal at the dock, the server running the night batch. The EtikStudio Windows edition is a native application, not a packaged web page: it uses the printer drivers Windows already has, adds native printer-language output when you want to bypass the driver, and carries the production features a plant needs — print queues, load balancing across printers and a connector that runs as a service without anyone logged in.

Typical setups

Requirements

Windows 10 or later and Windows Server 2016 or later, 64-bit. Installed with a standard installer; silent installation available for IT deployment. Printer drivers are the ones provided by the manufacturer or Windows Update.

Problems it solves on Windows

Printers and connections on Windows

USB, network (TCP/IP raw or LPR), Bluetooth and shared printers all work through the Windows driver; for thermal printers from Zebra, TSC, SATO, Honeywell, Datamax-O'Neil, Toshiba, Intermec, Citizen, Godex and Argox, EtikStudio can instead talk to the printer in its own language over USB or the network, which is faster and gives exact barcode modules. The 10,000-printer database picks the right language and resolution automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Does EtikStudio need the manufacturer's Windows driver?

No. It can print through any installed driver, but for supported thermal printers it can also send the native language directly, with no driver at all.

Can it run on Windows Server as a print service?

Yes. The connector runs as a Windows service without a logged-in user and receives jobs from the ERP, the web editor and the mobile apps.

Which databases can I connect from Windows?

Any with an ODBC driver — SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, DB2, SAP HANA, Access — plus Excel and CSV files.

Can I open labels made in the Web Editor or on a Mac?

Yes. All editions share the same file format and the same private cloud library.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Design and print locally without connectivity; the cloud library syncs when the connection returns.
