Label design and printing software for macOS

A native Mac application with the full editor, printing through CUPS or native printer languages, database connectivity and the print connector — the same templates as Windows, no virtual machine.

Most label software is Windows-only, which leaves Mac-based design teams, labs and retailers running a virtual machine just to print a thermal label. EtikStudio for macOS is a native application: the complete editor, printing through CUPS — the print system macOS already uses — or directly in the printer's native language, connections to your databases, and the print connector so the Mac can share its printers with the rest of the operation.

Problems it solves on macOS

Printers and connections on macOS

Any printer configured in System Settings prints through CUPS, including AirPrint, IPP and network queues. For Zebra, TSC, SATO, Honeywell, Toshiba and the other thermal brands, EtikStudio sends native ZPL, TSPL, SBPL, DPL or TPCL directly over USB or TCP/IP — no vendor driver, exact barcode modules and full speed. Apple silicon and Intel are both supported natively.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a printer driver for my Zebra or TSC on the Mac?

No. EtikStudio can send the printer's native language directly over USB or network; a CUPS raw queue is optional.

Does it support Apple silicon (M-series) Macs?

Yes, natively, as well as Intel Macs on macOS 12 or later.

Can the Mac share its printers with the rest of the company?

Yes. The connector runs as a background service on the Mac and makes its printers available to the web editor, the mobile apps and other sites.

Are templates compatible with the Windows edition?

Fully. Same file format, same private cloud library, same rendering.

Can it connect to our SQL Server or MySQL from the Mac?

Yes, through the ODBC drivers for macOS, or through the connector if the database is only reachable from another site.
